President Larry Cooper opened the meeting at 6:45 pm. The minutes from the annual meeting of 2015 were read and approved.
Our new residents are Nora Becker and John Lund. Welcome to the Greens.
State of the Greens:
Board President Larry Cooper reported that the finances of The Greens are in good shape. The dues will remain at $175.00.
The ash trees were treated last year and will be retreated next year. The Green's has State Farm for our insurance and the
deductible is going up to $15,000.00 but the monthly premium has been reduced. Larry reminded us that there would be no
removal of snow if cars are parked in the drive ways. December 11th will be the date of the Holiday Walk. Nancy Nissen has
volunteered to host an open house. We still need 3 more people to volunteer. Chili Cookoff will be in February and more to
follow on that. The dumpster was in place again this summer and was a success and it was suggested that we have one both in
the front and back of the Greens.
Recognition:
Larry wanted to thank all the people who help in the Green's.
Kim Barnes, Donna Bauer, Elaine Blick and other people who have helped make the front entrance look so good and all the upkeep
it takes. Brian Barnes for all the work he does. Lou Louwerse for taking care of the lighting. DJ Smith for siding, painting and
maintenance of the front sign lights. Paul Zimmerman for the Irrigation System and the Chili Cookoff. Gerald Bair and Elaine Blick
for the monthly newsletter. Kathy Stepleton for organizing the monthly Green's Breakfast. Bill Ham for taking care of the Green's
grounds. George Patschke and Phyllis Anderson for the startup of the butterfly area and the release of them. Sally Orf and others
for working with the Optimist Club and organizing the flags. Norm Stepleton, Sally Orf, Sally Taylor and Elaine Read for the time and
talent they gave to the Green's Board. Mary Roseberry is starting a Book Club and the first meeting will be October 24th at 6:30 pm.
Treasurer's Report:
Karol Cooper, treasurer, reported that the books were reviewed this year by Rick Seger, V.P. of Guaranty Bank, and all was correct.
Thanks to Gerald Bair and Sally Orf for doing this review in the past. Karol also mentioned that she and Brian Barnes are the only two
people who can sign checks for The Green's. In addition, if anyone would like their HOA dues automatically mailed, contact Karol.
Election of Officers and Board Members:
The following officers have agreed to serve another year: Larry Cooper-president; Karol Cooper-treasurer; and Brian
Barnes-vice president. Sally Orf, Sally Taylor and Norm Stepleton have retired from the board. Bob Miller, Elaine Read, Martha
Parks, Elaine Blick and Donna Bauer ran for the 3 positions on the board. The election was held which consisted of one vote per address.
Those elected to fill the open spots on the board were: Bob Miller, Elaine Blick and Elaine Read. Donna Zimmerman agreed to replace
Elaine Read as secretary.
New Business:
Kim Wilkerson asked if anyone has been having trouble with their windows. A lot of the windows are getting older and the seals are
breaking. She wondered if other people were having a problem and maybe it could be investigated if several people wanted to get
together and see if they could get a better deal. This winter the entrance and exit to the Green's will be salted and also the
cement pads by the mail boxes. It was suggested if you are leaving for several months during the winter that you leave a key with a
neighbor in case of anything happening. Also if it has snowed just drive your car into the driveway and out to make it look like
someone would be there. Paul
Zimmerman motioned to adjourn the meeting and John Mescher seconded it.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM
