Insurance Update:

Former President Jerry Bair joined the meeting for the purpose of updating the State Farm Insurance payments. All of the roofing repair money has been received. A check for $46,000 was received for resident’s interior damage ($33,000) and tree removal ($13,000). To receive payment for the siding and gutters a quote for the work will need to be submitted.

Garage doors, windows, screens and decks damaged in the Derecho are the responsibility of the homeowner and should be turned into your personal insurance company.

Jerry stated that we have two years from the date of the claim to turn in any additional losses.

Attic Inspection:

Brian contacted Comfort Solutions to do inspections on all homes attics to check on the insulation for possible movement during the storm. Matt from Comfort Solutions and Steve from State Farm will both survey the attic’s and determine if there is any loss of insulation protection.

Greg’s Landscaping Contract:

A lawn committee was formed with the members being, Bill Ham, Sally Orf and Bob Miller. Over the years there have been many concerns regarding The Greens lawns and snow removal services. After much deliberation it was decided it was time to seek out new service. Several companies were considered, and a new contract was awarded to Cutting Edge Lawns & Landscapes. They will begin service on April 1st and a 60 day notice to terminate our contract will be sent to Greg’s Landscaping.

Irrigation and Grounds:

Fleming Irrigation has been sold but we will continue to work with the new owners. Bill Ham talked about the uprooting of so many trees and the need for fill dirt and reseeding and, of course, the continual weed problem which needs to be addressed. Bill is very good at recognizing these problems and will work with the lawn as well as the irrigation people.

Bob Assink brought up the subject of replacing the downed trees and thought it would be a good idea to ask a Forrester for advice. He will do some research for the best trees to plant.

Janda’s Deck Proposal:

Brian showed us a contractor drawing for their proposed new deck. The current size of the deck is 10 x 24 feet, and they want to increase it to 12 x 24 feet. The city will be contacted to make sure it is within the boundary lines, but all the board members did approve the new deck.

Dumpster:

We will have the Dumpster here on June 11th through the 21st. Elaine Blick volunteered to contact ABC Disposal.

Garage Sales:

We are not promoting garage sales but if someone wants to have one, they should contact a board member and it will, of course, be considered.

Annual Greens Way Picnic:

The date of Sunday September 12th was selected with Bob & Linda Miller hosting this event at 1556.
