Board Meeting Highlights
July 8, 2008
Present:
DJ Smith, Norm Stepleton, Jerry Lentz, Lou Louwerse, Bill Nixon, Bob Assink, Nancy Nissen, Bob Schmitz, Betty Schulte, Sally Taylor and Phyllis Anderson
The meeting was called to order by President DJ Smith at 7:04 p.m.
Treasurer's Report and discussion: Sally Taylor presented the Treasurer’s Report.

Between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008 our expenditures were $77,824.72 and our income was $58,000
- Our contract with Greg’s Lawn and Landscaping covered the first 13 snow removal events. They actually removed snow 33 times.
- Our total assets last year at this time were $28,825.40, this year that amount is $13,260.75
- Our monthly dues generate $4800 and our expenses now average $6000
- The Alliant bill covers street lights, garage lights on the inner units that come on each night, and the electrical needs of the irrigation system.
Discussion Items
- DJ secured two bids for cleaning up the courtyard plantings. The lower bid was for $1850 and includes weeding, mulching, edging, and pruning of trees. Norm moved that the bid be accepted. Bob seconded. Motion carried.
- Robb Dixon completed painting projects and submitted a bill for $460.63. His work was well received.
- Nancy asked why we are watering our lawns when we have had so much rain. It is often seen running down the gutters. DJ said some people complained that their lawns were starting to show stress to the system was turned on for the year.
- DJ has received some complaints of dogs being tethered outside.
- New residents include Brian and Kim Barnes (1621) and Forrest and Martha Parks (1638)
Dues
- Bob reported that only one area condo association has lower dues than ours.
- The last time the dues were raised was January of 2002.
- Nancy moved and Jerry seconded a motion that monthly dues be raised from $100 to $125 effective September 1. Carried unanimously. Residents will be notified immediately.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
