May 5, 2014

Members Present:
Larry Cooper- president
Brian Barnes- vice president
Karol Cooper- treasurer
Elaine Read- secretary
Board members- Rosie Turnis, Jack Read, Bob Assink, Gerald Bair, Bill Nixon

Larry opened the meeting at 7:08 pm and reported that the benches in the commons area have
been refinished. They were in bad shape but with the efforts of Brian, Ben, Kim, Larry, and Steve
they have a new life.

Betty Schulte’s former unit has been sold and new owners will be moving in soon.

Karol gave the treasurer’s report which can be found on the Green’s website.

Landscaping improvements have been approved for several residents.

The board approved a roof replacement for Bob Assink’s unit and it will be done by DeNeve
Construction for $7,550.

Two units have reported water around their skylights. Since it could be a condensation problem,
the lights will be sealed to see if that solves the problem.

GROUNDS:

The berms in the commons area are in need of refurbishing. It will be weeded, trimmed, and a
few shrubs may be removed. It was suggested that we contact the Linn County Extension Service
to see if we can get someone to advise us on what to plant and how best to manage the area. A
committee consisting of Bob, Karol, Rosie, Kim and Elaine will make recommendations after advice
from the Master Gardener.

The pine trees by the west end mailboxes are in need of replacement and a vinyl white fence is
being considered.

Greg’s Lawn Service is coming to repair lawns and damage to the foundation of one of the units.

We will proceed with the light pole replacement (aluminum) at the east end of the Greens. One
tree on the north side may also need to be removed.

There was a squirrel in the soffit of one unit and that has since been resolved. Since there was no
outside damage to the unit, it was felt the Green’s Association should not incur the expense of squirrel
removal.

There was some discussion for the need of security cameras at some point in the future.

Jack suggested that a drawing be held at the monthly breakfast and one participant would receive a
free breakfast. He will talk with Kathy Potter about this.

Larry adjourned the meeting at 8:15 pm.
